I've decided that I will start paying guest bloggers for writing on Europebudgetguide.com
Inspired by recent debates about free vs paid content, I've decided to follow my words with action and pay my contributors.
Payment comes in the form of £5 Amazon Gift Voucher. Its not much. Its something to show my appreciation. Currently I don't make much money from Europebudgetguide.com but since I have some money coming in and I am covering my running costs and time, why not offer something of value to contributors.
How do you apply?
If this sounds good and you would like to be a guest-writer for Europebudgetguide.com, please email your articles to europebudgetguide AT gmail.com
For submissions, please allow for 2 weeks for me to get back to you.
What I am looking for is
1) What kind of content?
The main aim of Europebudgetguide.com is to offer travellers visiting Europe tips and advice of budget friendly places to sleep, eat and visit but all with the emphasis on being authentic, real travel experiences. My definition of 'budget' is 'value for money.' Also it helps if you've actually visited the place :)
2) What destinations in Europe am I looking for content on?
Any city, town is good. I like reading about Rome, Barcelona but I love content on places that are off the beaten track 'Hidden Europe' is the phrase that pops into my head.
3) Word count?
150-200 words. If you need to write more, cool. Given how limited the attention span is of most people, shorter the better but if its a good read, nice flow and entertaining, I don't mind longer pieces.
4) Pictures please?
Good pictures+3 of your own pictures to go along with the article.
If they are low-res images-brilliant.
5) Style-nothing fancy or flowery
I like good honest, incisive writing that takes the reader to the place straightaway. Plus I am no grammer genius and do copyediting but would prefer if you did read through copy before submitting.
6) Bio- Tell me who you are
If you have a blog, great. I'll link to it. (feel free to link to us!) If not, that's cool. I welcome submissions from first time writers and newbie bloggers starteing out. Plus a wee pic of your merry self is welcomed but not a must.
Again if you have any questions, drop me a line at europebudgetguide AT gmail.com or say hello to me on Twitter http://twitter.com/budgettraveller
